Chianti Elopement among cypresses at the heart of Tuscany
This is what an elopement in Chianti actually feels like.
Ana and Kelvin traveled all the way from the States to trade a traditional wedding for a dream they’ve had for years: a private, high-energy escape to the heart of Chianti. They wanted a day that was less about a schedule and more about the vibration – think medieval stone, dusty cypress roads and a cold bottle of bubbles waiting at the finish line.
Elopement at Villa Sermolli, Pisa, Tuscany
No guest list, no tension – just the two of them hitting the road for their elopement in Chianti. We started the afternoon wandering through the stone streets of a medieval village, catching the breeze and soaking up that ancient Italian energy before heading out into the hills.
Then we stopped on a classic cypress-lined road for the main event. In the middle of that iconic landscape, Ana and Kelvin exchanged their vows. It was simple, private and honest. No microphones or fancy setups – just a quiet moment to celebrate their relationship in Italy.
To wrap up the day, we headed into the vineyards for sunset. They popped a bottle of Prosecco, toasted to being newlyweds and ended the afternoon exactly how you’re supposed to in Chianti: lying on a blanket right between the vines.
It was the most relaxed “reception” ever, and honestly, the perfect way to start married life.
Ana and Kelvin, thank you for letting me in on the dream. And thank you for showing everyone exactly how a wedding day should feel – effortless, high-energy and completely your own. I’m so happy I was there to catch the vibration of it all.
Our time at the lake with Pau and Ago was all about that raw, grounded energy that happens when two people are obsessed with each other. We skipped the mountain trekking and spent out dolomiti lake couple photoshoot hanging out by the water, catching those split-second laughs and the way they actually look at each other when the camera isn’t the focus.
The Dolomites have this incredible way of making everything feel massive, but we kept it intimate. We hung out on the shore and just watched the magic happen against that insane turquoise water. There’s no fluff here – just real connection and messy hair. The Unseen Photography is all about those honest moments that usually go unnoticed, and Pau and Ago made it look effortless.
This session is proof that you don’t need a summit to get an epic shot -you just need a killer backdrop and a love that’s totally real. Dive into the highlights of this dolomiti lake couple photoshoot and see why I’m still buzzing about that day.
Elopement at Villa Sermolli, Pisa, Tuscany
Pau and Ago, thank you for such a grounded, beautiful afternoon. Magic happens when you stop rushing and just let the environment speak, and you both stepped into that stillness so naturally. I’m truly grateful you trusted me to capture these quiet moments by the water – I’ll be carrying this dolomiti lake couple photoshoot with me for a long time.
A Maternity Road Trip to the Glowing Sun of Tuscany
Lea and Rok drove all the way from Slovenia for our maternity photo session in Val d’Orcia to catch that iconic glow and we made the most of every second. We’re officially on “Baby Boy Watch,” celebrating month four with a stroll through the romantic, sun-soaked alleys of Pienza before hitting the road for those classic cypress views.
Pienza gave us all the panoramic feels, while the cypresses provided the perfect backdrop for a few “unscripted” moments. It was a maternity session; but also a mini-moon and a celebration of the big adventure that’s just around the corner.
Tuscany looks good on you, Lea and Rok!
Elopement at Villa Sermolli, Pisa, Tuscany
Lea and Rok, thank you for letting me in on this beautiful chapter. It’s not every day I get to explore the corners of Pienza with a couple as adventurous and joyful as you. Thank you for trusting my eye with your maternity photo session in Val d’Orcia. It felt special to be allowed to capture this wild, wonderful transition into your parenthood. I can’t wait to see the adventures you’ll have with your little guy—he’s already got a pretty great head start with parents like you!
wedding at borgo di pietrafitta, the unseen photography
The poetry of light at an ancient borgo
They say all roads lead to Rome, but for Katie and Aaron, the ancient stones of the Via Francigena led somewhere much more spectacular. Borgo di Pietrafitta isn’t just a location; it’s a 12th-century village that decided to grow up and become the ultimate Chianti dreamscape.
Imagine a place where medieval pilgrims once rested, now reimagined for lovers who want to toast under the Tuscan sun. It’s got the soul of the 1100s—ancient stone houses and olive trees that have seen it all—but with a modern, joyful pulse that’s practically infectious.
Katie and Aaron created a living, breathing poem. It was ethereal, it was sun-drenched and it was a total celebration of life in the heart of Italy’s most iconic hills.
And it was so special that it got featured here on Rock My Wedding!
Elopement at Villa Sermolli, Pisa, Tuscany
Morning at the Borgo didn’t just break; it arrived with a golden wink. Upstairs, Katie was the radiant heart of a beautiful, chaotic whirlwind. Tucked into a suite that’s seen centuries of stories, she was surrounded by her twin sisters, her mum, and her ride-or-die friends. The vibe? Pure electricity. Think popping prosecco corks, vintage mirrors reflecting a chorus of laughter and that unique “twin-sister magic” that turned the bridal prep into the ultimate pre-party.
And then, there was The Dress. If you could stitch together moonlight and Tuscan mist, it would look exactly like this. Katie stepped into a silhouette that was pure, unadulterated poetry. Those whimsical, puffy transparent sleeves danced with light. It was the kind of look that makes you believe in fairy tales again—soft, airy and effortlessly cool. As she moved, the delicate fabric trailing behind her felt like a modern masterpiece draped in history. It wasn’t just a bridal look; it was a vibe, a statement and the perfect opening line to the most beautiful story of the day.
A few stone walls away, Aaron was the picture of Tuscan cool. No stress, just soul. Flanked by his two best men, he took a breath of that crisp Chianti air to put the finishing touches on his vows. It was the perfect beat of stillness—just a man, his best mates and the words that he was about to read to Katie.
For the First Look, Katie and Aaron chose a terrace that felt like the edge of the world.
As they stood together against that panoramic backdrop, the weight of the journey hit them both. There were no rehearsed smiles here—just tears, the kind that blur the vision but make the heart see everything clearly.
In the quiet hum of the afternoon, they shared words meant only for each other. It was the ultimate “heart-staying” moment—two people in an ancient borgo, sharing their deepest feelings in front of Chianti countryside.
The ceremony was a literal explosion of colour. We’re talking blooms in every sun-drenched hue—corals, deep violets and blue—spilling over the ancient grounds. It was a sensory overload of joy.
As Katie floated down the aisle, those whimsical sleeves catching the breeze, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. It’s one thing for a couple to be moved, but when the entire guest list is reaching for tissues? That’s the Borgo magic at work. The air was thick with love and the sweet scent of flowers.
But then came the “cool-kid” twist that broke the tension in the best way possible. In the middle of all that high-fashion editorial glory, Katie and Aaron whipped out a disposable camera. Forget the professional lenses for a second—this was about the raw, grainy, “in-the-moment” soul of the day. They took turns snapping photos of each other, grinning like teenagers who just pulled off the heist of the century. It was cheeky, it was spontaneous and it was the perfect reminder that while the setting was a movie, the love was wonderfully, vibrantly real.
I am obsessed with the disposable camera move! It’s such a fun, life-loving touch.
The ceremony brought the tears, but the Aperitivo brought the party! Imagine the scene: the sun beginning its slow, golden descent, casting a honeyed glow over the villa’s facade. Right there, with the historic church standing as a silent, majestic witness, the air filled with the kind of magic you usually only find in old Italian cinema.
A live string band provided the soundtrack—elegant, upbeat, and perfectly “Chianti chic”—as guests mingled with glasses of crisp Vermentino in hand.
And let’s talk about the feast! Bio catering took center stage. We’re talking farm-to-table brilliance: sun-ripened heirloom tomatoes, artisanal cheeses that tasted like the Tuscan hills and organic drinks that kept the joy flowing. It was fresh, it was soulful and it was the ultimate “life-loving” celebration.
As the party hummed in the distance, Katie and Aaron slipped away into a living editorial. First stop: the Italian Gardens – manicured hedges and a symmetry that made Katie’s whimsical, airy sleeves look like they were floating through a dream.
As the sun dipped low, painting the sky in strokes of honey and rose, we moved to the panoramic ridge. With the entire Chianti valley spilling out beneath them like a velvet carpet, the “Poetry of Light” became a masterpiece. No poses, no prompts—just two people drenched in the most iconic sunset on earth, their silhouettes etched against a horizon that felt like it was cheering them on.
At dinner the energy shifted from sunset serenity to a full-blown Italian fiesta! Forget a polite stroll into the dining area—Katie and Aaron made an entrance that practically shook the foundations of the Borgo.
Picture this: a sea of white napkins waving wildly in the air, a rhythmic, joyful salute from every guest as the newlyweds swept in. The atmosphere was electric, a high-voltage spark of celebration that set the tone for the rest of the night.
Between courses of Tuscan food, the air grew thick with emotion during the speeches. There were stories that sparked roars of laughter and tributes that brought back those beautiful, salty tears—each word adding a new verse to their wedding dream.
And then, the grand finale: the Wedding Cake. Standing against the silhouette of the villa, the cutting of the cake was the ultimate sweet note.
As the stars took over the Chianti sky, the elegance of the day caught a second wind—and then completely broke loose!
Before the beat dropped, there was one last sweet huddle: Katie’s sisters and mum adjusting her dress. It was the final quiet beat before the volume hit the ceiling.
Then? The party went wild. Stone walls that have stood for centuries suddenly vibrated with pure, unadulterated energy. But just when the guests thought the night had reached its peak, Katie and Aaron pulled the ultimate move. Out came the glittering vests, catching every strobe light and disco beam in the room. Shimmering, shaking and radiating joy, the newlyweds became a human firework display, hyping the crowd into a dancing frenzy.
A massive, soul-filled thank you to Katie and Aaron for inviting us into your “Living Poem.” Your joy is infectious, your style is transcendent and those glittering vests? Absolute icons. Thank you for showing us that a wedding can be both an ethereal dream and a wild, foot-stomping celebration of life.
To the twin sisters and the mum who kept the calm and the curls in place—your love was the invisible thread through every frame. To the best men who brought the chill and every guest who waved a napkin and danced until the stones shook—you were the heartbeat of this story.
And finally, to Borgo di Pietrafitta and the incredible wedding planners and vendors: thank you for providing the light, the flavor and the ancient soul that made this day stay in our hearts forever.
Villa Sermolli: A Cinematic Escape for Two in the Hills of Pisa
On this golden October day, the air held a subtle, crisp edge—a quiet reminder that the seasons were shifting at Villa Sermolli. Having traveled across the Atlantic from the United States, Cassy and Cole were after something more than a destination wedding; they were looking to disappear.
They chose to exchange their vows away from the busy world. Between the historic textures of the villa and the views spreading toward Pisa and Lucca, their ceremony was a masterclass in “quiet luxury.”
It was a day where the shadows of the villa met the autumn light, creating a narrative that set a tone of their elopement at Villa Sermolli that was entirely their own.
The morning began in the quiet interior of the villa. There is a specific kind of stillness in a room where an elopement is unfolding—a focus on the small, tactile details, the bride finishing her make-up without hurry, the couple helping each other to their wedding outfits.
Once ready, Cassy and Cole headed to the villa’s lush garden, where they exchanged their vows and rings. It felt like taking refuge in a green sanctuary, where the atmosphere and suspence of the moment made us feel like in a bubble lifted by the soft October wind.
As the sun began its descent, we wandered through the garden paths and among the villa’s walls to capture the day’s final warmth. These portraits balance the grand scale of the place with the effortless connection of two people who chose to elope in Villa Sermolli on their own terms.
To close the day, we dedicated the last sunlight to a series of bridal portraits. This session was a study of textures, shadows and blurs. It was a final, poetic touch before leaving the couple to celebrate their promise.
Where poetry meets romance on a dream Destination Wedding in Siena
There’s a specific kind of stillness you only find in the hills of Siena—a mix of warm wind, the rustle of vineyards and the feeling that time has slowed down just for you. This farmhouse wasn’t just a backdrop; it was the landing pad for a literal world map of guests.
Friends and family travelled from Australia, Sweden and Italy, bringing different accents and stories to the table. It felt less like a formal event and more like a long-overdue homecoming.
The energy inside was light—none of the usual wedding morning franticness, just a soft hum of anticipation.
There was something so lovely about the simplicity of the morning. No big glam squad; just the bride’s sister styling her hair while they chatted and her mum helping her into the dress.
The rooms were filled with a chaotic, beautiful mix of languages and the kind of easy laughter that happens when the people who know you best are all in one place.
It was a morning of small, quiet gestures. No performance, just the genuine excitement of a group of people who had traveled thousands of kilometers to finally be exactly where they were.
a sense of admiration
The first look took place in a quiet, shaded corner on the edge of the farmhouse grounds. It served as a brief sanctuary from the midday heat and the growing energy of the house.
Against the backdrop of the vineyards, the atmosphere in the shade was still and private. When Maria and Damian finally saw each other, there was a visible sense of admiration—a sharp intake of breath and a long exhale. It was a grounded, intimate pause for the two of them before the day truly began.
the heart of siena
From the quiet of the vineyards we moved to the stone and history of Siena. The entire wedding party made the drive from the farmhouse to the city center for the civil ceremony at the Palazzo Pubblico.
Located right in Piazza del Campo, the building is one of Italy’s most iconic landmarks and its high, vaulted halls provided a poetic, classical backdrop.
Before the ceremony began, there was a brief, quiet moment where the bride stopped to finish writing her vows. It was a grounding pause — just a pen, paper and the weight of what was about to be said.
a cello for the bride
The ceremony was intimate and deeply personal. A harpist played soft classical music that echoed through the historical hall. Yet the most touching moment came from Damian, when in a dedicated tribute to Maria, he took up his cello and brought a completely different layer of emotion to the day.
It was a ceremony that felt poetic and incredibly intimate.
Following the vows, we stayed within the walls of the Palazzo Pubblico for a brief photo session. The building’s architecture provided an incredibly artistic, almost mystical backdrop—vast stone hallways and light that fell in just the right places. It was a stark, beautiful contrast to the soft vineyards of the morning, giving the portraits a sense of history and weight.
a walk through the city
From the palace, the celebration spilled out into the heart of Siena. There is something uniquely special about a wedding party moving through the old town, the energy of one of Italy’s most famous cities blending with the intimacy of the day.
The group walked through the winding city center to Tartufo Restaurant. It was the perfect shift in atmosphere—moving from the ancient history of the palace to a lush, modern lunch. The setting was vibrant and sophisticated, a beautiful spot for everyone to finally sit down, raise a glass and celebrate the journey they had all taken to be there.
back to where everything started
After a long, indulgent lunch, we left the stone streets of Siena behind and headed back into the open air of the Tuscan countryside.
Returning to the farmhouse felt like doing a full circle. The afternoon light had begun to soften, casting a golden glow over the vineyards and olive trees. It was the perfect re-entry—moving from the formal grandeur of Siena back to the relaxed “sanctuary”.
As the sun began to dip, we stepped away for a final, quiet photo session. The Tuscan “golden hour” lived up to its reputation. It was a brief, romantic pause in the day—capturing Maria and Damian in that fleeting, perfect light before the evening truly took over.
into the night
The return to the farmhouse was met with a sudden, vibrant shift in energy. A fiddle band was already waiting, their versions of Italian classics echoing across the grounds as the wedding party arrived. It was the perfect, lighthearted bridge between the historic grandeur of Siena and the festive atmosphere of the countryside.
As the sun disappeared, the official party began. What started as a day of intimate rituals and quiet vows transformed into a spirited celebration that lasted long into the night. It was the perfect, high-energy conclusion to a day that had been, at its heart, about coming together.
a final note
It was a privilege to be the one behind the lens for this day, as every moment felt intentional and remarkably genuine. A huge thank you to Maria and Damian for trusting me to document such a personal chapter of their story. It was an unforgettable experience to witness so much artistic depth and poetry in one single day.
Turning Florence countryside into a frame for a micro wedding celebration with style
Just outside Florence, tucked in the quiet Tuscan hills, Danielle and Avery made their promise in the sweetest little micro wedding in Florence countryside you can imagine. No big crowd, no fuss — just the two of them, their closest family, a cypress-lined road and all the feels. They got ready in a cozy country house, shared an emotional ceremony (yes, there were tears), lit a symbolic candle together, toasted with their people and ran off for some dreamy portraits. Relaxed, soulful and full of heart — this one was all about love and the little moments.
Danielle and Avery started their day surrounded by calm countryside vibes and the quiet buzz of excitement. Getting ready was simple and intimate — just close family helping out, soft light pouring into rustic rooms and a lot of happy nerves. No rush, no chaos. Just slow sips of coffee, final touches and happy chats.
Ceremony — Candlelight, Vows & Big Emotions
The ceremony took place in the garden under the warm July sun, with a symbolic candle lighting. It was honest and emotional — one of those rare moments where time slows down. Every word, every look, every hand squeeze felt meaningful. Small in size, huge in heart. It was all this micro wedding in Florence countryside was about.
Couple Session — Just Married Glow in the Tuscan Cypresses
After the ceremony, we wandered off for the bride and groom photo session. The countryside did its thing: cypress trees, rolling hills, and that clear light Tuscany is famous for. Danielle and Avery walked, danced, laughed and soaked up their first moments as a married couple. No posing, no pressure — just real joy, captured as it unfolded.
Danielle and Avery, thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to be part of your day. Documenting your love, your people and the quiet beauty of your celebration in the Tuscan hills was such a joy. Your wedding was a reminder that small can be powerful, and that honest moments always shine the brightest. What a privilege to witness it all.
A Wildly Joyful Borgo Castelvecchi Wedding — Tuscany Love with Music, Laughter & Vineyards
When two free spirits meet—one Italian, one German—and build a life of creativity, travel and love, their wedding is bound to be unforgettable. Ilaria and Dustin’s summer celebration at Borgo Castelvecchi, a rustic gem nestled among Tuscany’s vineyards, was a perfect reflection of who they are: warm, adventurous and deeply connected to the people (and pets!) they love.

Their day began in the quiet corners of the Borgo—each of them getting ready in their own room, surrounded by their closest friends and their loyal companions: Maui the dog and their sweet cat, who calmly followed the Borgo Castelvecchi wedding buzz. Laughter echoed, nerves softened and anticipation filled the old stone walls.
TEAM BRIDE - MOMENTS OF ANTICIPATION
Ilaria prepared for her big moment, surrounded by her dearest friends. Together, they helped her into the wedding dress, sharing laughs, tender glances and moments of anticipation. A special touch made the dress uniquely hers — she had lovingly modified the underlayer with her mum, adding a long, flowing skirt of delicate fabric that danced with every movement. Each detail was filled with love, setting the tone for the day. Before leaving for the ceremony, we captured the anticipation and loving excitement on the face of the bride in a brief bridal portrait moment.
TEAM GROOM - FRIENDS AND MAUI
In another corner of the Borgo, Dustin got ready with his closest friends and their loyal dog, Maui, never far from his side. The atmosphere was relaxed but filled with excitement—jokes were shared, ties were adjusted and the bond between lifelong friends was clear in every gesture. The second photographer captured these candid moments as Dustin calmly prepared, a quiet confidence in his smile. Maui, sensing the importance of the day, stayed close, adding his own calm presence to the unfolding story of this unique Borgo Castelvecchi wedding.
EMOTIONAL CEREMONY OF BORGO CASTELVECCHI WEDDING
The ceremony took place in the peaceful corner of Borgo Castelvecchi, overlooking the vineyards and the rolling Tuscan hills. Guests gathered under the warm summer sun, chatting with anticipation. Dustin’s groomsmen led the way, walking in with Maui, proudly trotting down the aisle. The groom followed, arm in arm with his mother, his expression a mix of emotion and quiet joy. One by one, the bridesmaids appeared, and finally, Ilaria stepped into view. She walked slowly, her dress flowing, eyes locked with Dustin’s.
The symbolic ceremony was heartfelt and full of personality — laughter mingled with happy tears as their story was told and vows exchanged. At just the right moment, Maui proudly delivered the rings, adding a personal and playful touch. When Ilaria and Dustin sealed their promises with a deep kiss, the borgo erupted into applause, echoing the happiness on the nearby fields.
THE BEGINNING OF CELEBRATIONS
After the ceremony, guests made their way to the garden for the aperitivo — a relaxed gathering in Borgo’s gorgeous garden. Laughter and clinking glasses filled the air as everyone enjoyed a spread of local delicacies, prosecco and spritz. Conversations flowed easily, with hugs, reunions and toasts exchanged between bites. The mood was light, celebratory and effortlessly Tuscan. Meanwhile, Ilaria and Dustin moved through the crowd, soaking in the warmth of their people — a mix of cultures, languages and decades of friendship, all coming together in this perfect corner of the world.
intimate Sunset Couple Session in the Vineyards of Borgo Castelvecchi
As the sun began to dip behind the hills, Ilaria and Dustin slipped away from their Borgo Castelvecchi wedding for a quiet moment together in the vineyards. The golden hour wrapped them in soft, warm light as they walked hand in hand through the rows of vines, laughing, pausing to hold each other and letting the moment sink in. It was their first time truly alone that day — a small, tender pocket of stillness. The breeze moved gently through Ilaria’s flowing skirt, the light caught in Dustin’s eyes and for a few minutes, it felt like time slowed. These portraits weren’t posed — they were felt. Honest, joyful and completely theirs.
FAIRYTALE DINNER SETTING
As the sun set behind the villa, a long table was set for dinner beneath strings of glowing lights, right in front of the historic façade of Borgo Castelvecchi. Guests found their seats as the gentle sound of live music drifted through the evening air. The mood was relaxed and full of warmth — a celebration of not just love, but connection. Laughter echoed between courses of delicious Tuscan dishes and Borgo’s wine. As speeches began, tears mixed with laughter once again, with friends and family sharing stories that painted a fuller picture of Ilaria and Dustin’s journey together. It was the kind of dinner where no one checked the time — the kind you never want to end.
Cake, sparkles, Party and ...
As night fully embraced the Borgo, guests gathered at the grand stone gate for the cake cutting — a sweet moment under the stars. With sparklers in hand and music softly building in the background, Ilaria and Dustin cut their cake to cheers and applause, sealing the evening with another kiss and a toast of bubbly.
And then the real party began. Music filled the courtyard, and the dance floor quickly came alive with energy and movement. Laughter, dancing, hugs — the kind of celebration where everyone feels like family. In the middle of it all, a champagne tower appeared, adding a splash of spectacle and sparkle to this already unforgettable Borgo Castelvecchi wedding.
... a big surprise
But the biggest surprise came around midnight, when the music paused and the couple took the stage. Dustin picked up his guitar, and Ilaria — who had secretly learned to play bass just for this — joined him. Their surprise concert lit up the night. Friends went wild, some in tears, all completely captivated. After the last note rang out, the party picked up again and didn’t stop until long after midnight. A night of love, music and joy — the kind of night no one forgets.
To Ilaria and Dustin — thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to document your wedding day. It was a joy and an honour to witness a celebration so full of meaning, laughter, creativity and love. Your energy, your story and the way you brought together your worlds left a lasting impression on everyone there — including me. I’m so grateful to have been part of it.
Hart-warming Family Photo Session filled with family love and joy in Tuscany
Tuscan landscape is an incredible backdrop for family sessions, as it fills the images with warmth, harmony and timelessness. It was, in fact, the magic ingredient that added a pinch of beauty to an already amazing family.
Hugs, giggles and lots of family love, is what comes to my mind when I think about the family photoshoot with Selay and her lovely family. Their family priorities were joy, attention, love and care, which they spread not only on their little daughter, but on everyone around.
Coming on vacation to Italy from the US, they desired to immortalise that fleeing moment in life, when Nova was still the only child, while her little brother was on the way.
This session once again proves that photographs are the best souvenir and is what will remain after the days pass.

Stunning Sunset Wedding Photoshoot in Tuscany, Crete Senesi
Dive into this magical post-wedding photoshoot with I+D. It was July, the air was warm and the smell of grain filled the air.
I+D got married a few days earlier (view their wedding) and, because it was important for them to have an unrushed wedding photo session together, we met in Crete Senesi to create this collection of magical images.
They absolutely loved the outcome and I couldn’t recommend post-wedding photo sessions enough. Taking photos on another day than the wedding, gave us the freedom of meeting in one of the most stunning locations in Tuscany. I+D were totally themselves – relaxed, happy and playful. We went from romantic to silly, from dreamy to active, it was all spontaneous and natural, as nobody was watching.
